About Me

My photo
My Name is Travis Evans. I have been married since 2007 to my wife, Kira Evans. We have a Three girls, Kenzie Lou, Jacee Pink, and Emmy Jeanne. My wife has been doing the blog thing for a few years now, you can follow her comments @ travisandkiraevans.blogspot.com. Her blog covers our family and things we have done. Me, I'm going to cover what I call TKDesign. TKDesign is an idea which stands for creativity, execution, purpose, and family. Family with the "TK." TK gets its roots from a high school love story. A simple representation of two teenagers love, T+K. In our later years we dropped the "+" and now "TK" represents us, our family, and our values. Design, as the English dictionary defines it; to create, fashion, execute or construct according to plan, to have a purpose, to devise for a specific function or end, to make a drawing. We can sum up the definition with these three words; Creativity, Execution, and Purpose. You put these four things together; Family, Creativity, Execution, and Purpose and you have the idea of TKDesign. So you'll get my thoughts on sports, cars, designs, and my family. So if that Interests you feel free to read on!

2013 Pumpkins - Growing Pains

I spent about 2 hours in the patch yesterday. I pollinated for the third time. With temps teaching104 I decided to build my ice tent to try and help the germination take. That was in the morning, the night cap was burring 4 days of growth. Needless to say it took some time. Also Kenzie is loving the raspberries. She'll sneak back here when I'm not looking and attach my bushes. That's why I planted them... I live that girl!

(PB, we'll see come September)

(Getting big)

(She found a winner)

(What a little sneak)

Garage - Day 19

I couldn't be happier for this day to come. It would be my second most favorite day this far. Why? Because it means Day 20 is next. What happens on Day 20? Well let's talk about Day 19 first them I think you'll get it. The first hint is I don't have any extra dirt anymore. And the second hint is I've got some rocks in places I've never had rocks before. You quested it, Day 19 was the final grad out for the garage floor pour, and that's day 20. Though theses days are not exactly one after the other Day 19 & 20 do coincide with typical days, meaning Day 20 is tomorrow. I will have a garage floor tomorrow afternoon!

(See no more extra dirt)

( see rocks in places they've never been. Isn't Kenzie such a cute poser!)

Garage - Day 18

The day started off with all the boards coming off. I've never been so in love with concrete walls. Then it was time for the dirt to be placed to back fill the holes and haul away the extra dirt. They didn't quit finish the dirt excavating but you can see they got close...

(No more wall frames)

(Looking out of our fish bowl)

(Close but not quit there yet)

New Garage - Day 17

Today they came to tear the forms down for foundation. He got a little more than half way and he called it quits. I helped clean up a little bit after the mess he left, but that's what you get when your contractor hires high school help... Jake gave him a hard time about it the next day so all is well.

(You can see some of the mess. I just cleaned it up so I could water my lawn.)

(That's a real cement wall)

New Garage- Day 16

Concrete 2/3 the way done...check! The pumper truck they brought in today blew me away. It was much bigger than the previous one. They poured the foundation walls today and just have to back fill the dirt, grade for the floor and pour it. So close to be starting the framing I guess I should start pricing lumber... Oh and I couldn't resist putting my two little girls name on the wall. Day 16 complete and we're ready for some more!

New Garage - Day 15

With the foundation walls framed we are only an inspection away from pounding stage 2 of the project making it one step closer to a place for Stacey to reside safely. Also it make the Lowder family feel safe knowing nobody can be impelled with rebar...

New Garage- Day 12&13&14

I haven't done anything to help move the job along but Jakerete Concrete has...it started with day 12 them coming and pouring the footings and the patio pad in the back. I don't know why it took so long for me to put in the patio in the back! I know we will love it and it will be awesome for parties. Day 13 & 14 they came and started framing for the foundation. By next Monday we will be 2/3 the way done with the concrete... So sweet!

2013 Pumpkins - Mazzei Injector and Growth update!

So... I bought this new price to inject fertilizer in my sprinklers lines. I'll spare all the details but it took 5 interactions to get it to work. What finally worked was getting a pressure regulator valve and reducing my main line PSI from 100 to 40. Now the injector sucks like a champ! I'm told by Kyle Fox its worth it and he almost promised me a personal best.

The plant is looking good and I have a blossom that is probably 2 days out to being ready to pollinate. Too soon but I've got the champ sitting out 14ft and the size or a marble. It should be ready by my estimation on June 29th. Hat would be perfect. Wish me luck!

New Garage - Day 10.5 & 11

I couldn't resist letting Kenzie run around in our footing holes. The footings are formed and ready to poor next week. Lets get it done!
