About Me

My photo
My Name is Travis Evans. I have been married since 2007 to my wife, Kira Evans. We have a Three girls, Kenzie Lou, Jacee Pink, and Emmy Jeanne. My wife has been doing the blog thing for a few years now, you can follow her comments @ travisandkiraevans.blogspot.com. Her blog covers our family and things we have done. Me, I'm going to cover what I call TKDesign. TKDesign is an idea which stands for creativity, execution, purpose, and family. Family with the "TK." TK gets its roots from a high school love story. A simple representation of two teenagers love, T+K. In our later years we dropped the "+" and now "TK" represents us, our family, and our values. Design, as the English dictionary defines it; to create, fashion, execute or construct according to plan, to have a purpose, to devise for a specific function or end, to make a drawing. We can sum up the definition with these three words; Creativity, Execution, and Purpose. You put these four things together; Family, Creativity, Execution, and Purpose and you have the idea of TKDesign. So you'll get my thoughts on sports, cars, designs, and my family. So if that Interests you feel free to read on!

Wiring it up...

So I've started to wire up the garage... The plan is to have 6 dedicated circuits just for our Christmas lights. All I can say is we should have enough power to keep expanding, especially since I baught new LED lights for the roofline. I'm way excited for the potential we have now. But I've only got the wires ran for those. I still need to run the wire for the rest of the garage and the line from the main box. I tried to wire up the deck lights, one worked and one did not. I somehow grounded the main line so it trips. Got to rerun that wire. We have one working spot light in the back now. And finally, I'm getting around to some of those finishing touches. The house is starting starting to come together, very awesome!

The 6 plugs for Christmas lights, each one has its own 20amp breaker!

Lots or wires...

Some say I'll have more power for christmas lights than some use to power their house...

Spot light ready for some late night corn hole!

The delivery man will be able to find our house soon enough!

Antelope by moonlight 2014

We had a blast at the antelope by moon light bike ride. 24.4 miles and 2 hrs 24 minutes ariving home at 3am, I love me some family traditions.

Spent way too much time building these costumes but hey, I won a bike after all!

Mockups and Welding

Well after we had the motor in and out 3 time I think we got it. The first and second times it was because of a wrong flywheel. The 3rd time was because the motor mounts were wrong. So my dad mocked up some modifications and went to his buddy Neil's shop. After some new motor mounts the motor is in and hopefully for a while.

New and old flywheels and torque converter.

One of the first time we put her in...

Modified motor mounts!

Looking pretty and all mounted up!

The next project would be getting the pulleys, fan, and radiator mounted. We had to order some new pulleys as the stock ones wounded fit. I'll just say my dad and I love Summit Racing. They have almost everything we need and we get it two days after we order it. We had to rework some custom radiator brackets. Because I like mig welding better than gas/stick welding I used it as an excuse and baught a new 110 suitcase welder.

New custom radiator brackets!

Radiator brackets in place.

Now that he radiator is in place we can start to work in the alternator bracket and get the pulleys hooked up. Really enjoying the time with my dad!

Father & Son Time

After many years of waiting, my own project car, a marriage to a wonder wife, two little girls, & a pumpkin addiction we are finally getting back to work on the willys! We got the motor from Roger. I also posted a while back about the work we did on the headers. When we went to put the motor in tonight we ran into a slight snag, the motor was balanced with the wrong fly wheel. It didn't have g correct mounting holes for 2700 stall torque converter. That ment motor would be going in tonight. It's a shame as it was lining up so perfectly.

A short trip to Roger's shop!

Getting her home, can't wait to install it!

Ready to accept the heart translate!

Wrong flywheel... Made for a bummer of an evening!

Sheetrock & cosmetics

For fire code we have to Sheetrock some of the walls in the garage. Cool mornings made the attic work doable but as soon as it heat up it made it very hot.

Garage floor wall.

Attic wall, very hot in the middle of summer!

He's a quick look at the new pots we got for our deck!

I get one of our new lights all hooked up.

Single Dad Week

This past week it was just me and my two girls! Mom was away at girls camp so it was up to me to make sure the girls made it to Friday in one piece! We had something to do every night to get out of the house, that was the key to keeping the girls happy and me sane.

Tuesday I had a baseball game, in which I hit two homers but still lost 23-17, so the girls went to Brenda's house. Then we hung out there after I finished my game!

Wednesday we had a birthday party. They got to play in the water so of course they were happy!

Thursday we went to Article Circle for dinner. Then we went to fead the ducks. Jacee is in an animal loving stage right now. Then Kenzie got to have a sleep over with Payton & Ayla at Grandama Karla's house.

Kira came home Friday but just missed Kenzie as she headed up with my mom to her family reunion.

We played volley ball with a huge beachball, raced wheel barrows, build sand castles, paddled on the lake, & saw people we hadn't see for years (my cousin mike mostly).

It's nice just watching for once

We've been under heavy construction for a year now. We tore down the carport last year to build a garage. Other than the poring of the concrete my dad and I, with the help of a fe other along the way, handled that. Then My father inlaw and brother inlaw helped me roof it. Fast forward through the winter and I tore down the bungalow hut and build a deck. So this next step I enlisted a friend and I get to just watch... See some photos as they progress thus far!

Deck - Day17&18

Had a busy Memorial Day weekend... It started off with half a day of rain on Saturday! I was able to get the rest of the garden planted by in the morning rain. Then the rest the afternoon I tackled, or should say, tried to tackle the stairs. Let's just say the railing gave me some problems. Then on Sunday we visited the graves with Kira's family and stopped for our traditional iceberg shakes. Monday my college buddy, Mike Derrick, needed some help raising the roof of his garage so I helped him for a few hours. Kira needs wanted to go help her parent paint their deck. So I can home to watch the girls. Some swim suits, sunscreen, and water toys made it possible to get work done while still enjoying some presidiums family time. We ended the day with a BBQ over at my parents house.

Ready to make some salsa!

The angles gave me some troubles but I think move got it from here...

Jacee enjoyed the flowers...

Kenzie with her buddy's Ayla and Peyton!

The girls with their water tables...

Jacee exploring and seeing if she's going to like the sprinkler...

End of the day and we are a little safer at the Evans' home! Just one more side for railings...!

Deck - Day 15&16

With two little girls who love to go outside when daddy is, we had to make the deck safe! Neal came over and helped out by putting up the last two rails. Now I just have to worry about when the girls are climbing the stairs! With the remodel we also decided to make more room in the kitchen for our next project, new cabinets. To alow for that we took out the sliding door and went with a single man door. With the bungalow gone the last few weeks it has made the kitchen really hot with all the extra sun coming in. We'll enjoy controlling or sun intake a little more with the new door. Feel free to take a look...

Just need some railing for the stairs now!

The last two (upper) peices...

No more sliding door!

The door has blinds inbetween the pains of glass.

My little girls growing up...

Kenzie went with Grandma "neck" while I was building and this is how she looked when she came home!

And we got a new dishwasher who's name isn't Travis...!
